چکیده

In this study, total phenolics and flavonoid compounds of methanol extract concentrations three medicinal plant, Asteraceae (Compositae) L. genus that are grown in Turkey belong to the Achillea, were determined with goal measuring their antioxidant activities. Antioxidant capacity was measured by widely used iron reducing power, DPPH radical scavenging activity metal chelating capacity. The activities achillea extracts study compared standard antioxidants (BHA, BHT α-tocopherol), which frequently as food additives. According free results, all exhibited higher than standards used. from A.boissieri showed remarkable 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (68.51% at 37.5 μg/mL) comparable synthetic antioxidants. ferric power found be moderate methanolic Achillea species, whereas lower standards. addition, phenolic, flavonol content spectrophotometrically results expressed "gallic acid equivalent" or "quercetin equivalent". phenolic equivalents gallic observed range 11.86 23.63 mg/g dry weight. quercetin equivalent. Flavonoid ranged 15.05 29.70 mg/g. Total between 5.92 7.20 terms This has been for treatment Anatolia years, can a potential natural source.
